NeuroNook Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 29, 2026

NeuroNook is a private mental-wellness journal. This policy describes exactly what the app does with your information - which is, almost entirely, nothing beyond keeping it on your device.

Your data stays on your device

Everything you record in NeuroNook - daily check-in answers, wellness scores, journal notes, and custom questions - is stored only on your device, protected by iOS file encryption tied to your device passcode.

NeuroNook has no accounts, no ads, and no tracking. Nothing you enter is ever transmitted off your device by the app. The only other times the app goes online are the optional Live Weather feature and the service that manages optional Plus purchases, both explained below.

What the app stores (on device only)

Location

If you allow it, NeuroNook uses your approximate location on your device to match the neighborhood sky to your local sunrise and sunset. NeuroNook does not store your location, and the app works fully without it.

Live Weather is optional and stays off until you turn it on. When it is on, NeuroNook sends your location, rounded to about 11 km (7 mi), to Apple Weather (Apple's WeatherKit service) each time it checks the weather. That happens about every 30 minutes while the app is open, and it is the only time your location leaves your device. As with any internet request, Apple's servers also see your network address. Your check-ins, journal notes, scores, and settings are never part of the request. NeuroNook does not save the location it sends, and it keeps only the latest weather reading on your device.

Apple states that it uses location only to provide weather forecasts, does not associate it with personally identifiable information, and does not track it between requests. Turning Live Weather off in Settings → Appearance → Weather stops the requests and deletes the saved reading. Weather data comes from Apple Weather, and the app links to Apple's page listing its other data sources.

Notifications

Reminders and supportive notifications are generated and scheduled entirely on your device. No notification content or behavior is sent anywhere.

Purchases

NeuroNook Plus is an optional purchase sold through the App Store: a subscription or a one-time lifetime unlock. Apple processes the payment with your Apple Account, so NeuroNook never receives your name, email address, or payment details.

To manage purchases, the app uses RevenueCat, a service that confirms purchases with Apple and tells the app whether Plus is on. The app contacts RevenueCat when it opens and when you view the Plus offer, buy Plus, or restore a purchase. RevenueCat sees a random ID it creates for this install, your NeuroNook purchase history (which plan, when, and whether it renews), your device's vendor ID and model, your iOS and app versions, your language and App Store country and, as with any internet request, your IP address. It uses these to confirm purchases and to count purchases and trials. Your check-ins, journal notes, and scores are never part of that. RevenueCat is not used for ads or tracking, and its handling of data is covered by its own privacy policy. Apple's handling of purchases is covered by Apple's own privacy policy.

Sharing you control

Exporting your journal or emailing feedback happens only when you choose it, using the standard iOS share and mail interfaces. What you share, and with whom, is entirely up to you.

Deleting your data

You can erase everything stored on your device at any time in the app under Settings → Data Management. Deleting the app does the same. RevenueCat keeps its own anonymous purchase record, which neither action removes.

Children

NeuroNook is not directed at children under 13. The app has no accounts or advertising. Its weather and purchase-management services are described under Location and Purchases; journal entries, check-in answers, and scores are not included in those requests.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of NeuroNook ever changes this posture (for example, by adding optional sync), this policy and the app's App Store privacy details will be updated first, and any new data use will be opt-in.
